Their Story: Kevin and Erin met at work about 6.5 years ago. They both are in the health industry and enjoy the outdoors, hiking, traveling, and exploring the beauty of Colorado. They decided to have a small mountain wedding so they could enjoy one of their favorite places, Breckenridge, with their favorite people!
Microwedding Details: Erin and Kevin found one of our galleries online when searching on how to plan a microwedding in Colorado. There were a few emails about the package, and that was all it took before we were putting together their fabulous wedding plans, complete with logistics, recommendations, photographer, florals and cake. They decided not to do a first-look, so we allowed for a few more photos around the ceremony area before heading to the restaurant in Breckenridge for cheers, cake, celebrations and dinner. What part about their gallery do you like best?

Their Story: "Jason and I (Nicole) met at work 8 years ago, and have been together almost 6 years. In 2017 we packed up our stuff and moved from Minnesota to Colorado. We moved for what we expected to be a short time, but ended up falling in love with the beauty and endless outdoor activities that is hard to find many other places. When we decided to start planning our small wedding, we knew we wanted it to be simple yet beautiful and very intimate with our closest family and friends. Finding Wendee and seeing what Custom Weddings of Colorado provided gives us everything we want and love as part of our wedding."
Small Wedding Details: Being "local" Coloradans, Nicole and Jason made it a staycation for their small wedding in Summit County Colorado. Originally Nicole wanted white and blush flowers - pretty on Instagram posts, but adding a few soft colors adds vibrancy and life to an early summer small wedding in the outdoors - what do you think? Nicole added on a boutonniere for theirs son and a little spray bouquet for her niece. After some getting ready moments at an AirBNB they were staying at in Breckenridge, the group caravanned over to a small scenic overlook with amazing views. The brought their own officiant, a good friend, to personalize the ceremony. After some group photos, the guests departed to go enjoy some brews at the Highside Brewing Company in Frisco, Colorado. Nicole and Jason were soon to meet the group, and cut their cake to celebrate the beginnings of a sweet married life!
Their Story: "Weslyn and I met in Florida, went out for drinks and it was history! We’ve been attached ever since. We’ve recently moved to North Carolina due to work. We chose Colorado for its gorgeous scenery!
Wedding Details: even though Jessica and Wesley had only 7 guests (8 is our maximum for elopement packages), they still booked a 3 hour small intimate wedding package with us, which captures their getting ready, first look, caravan out to the ceremony site, the ceremony, post-ceremony photos, and cheers + cutting of the cake a the restaurant. There are some things for their elopement that made it unique. First, a close friend of the couple performed their ceremony - which can be done in Colorado (self-solemnization), they read personal love letters to each other right after their first look, and they reached walked in to the ceremony area - separately as individuals and exited as a couple (symbolic). There are may ways we can make same-sex marriages unique and personal to you - just ask Wendee! Their Story: "Our first date was in a local brewery. Colorado was our first vacation together. It holds a special place in our hearts now. We enjoyed hiking, got tattoos to commemorate. We both love sunshine, being outdoors, into the rustic, country atmosphere."
Wedding Details: We love it when couples want to do something creative with their wedding day timing. Erin and Anna wanted to start the festivities right after their "I Do's", so we cut and served the cake while they popped some bubbly. The guests had a blast socializing and eating desert first before going back to the vacation house to continue festivities. It allowed them time to celebrate the entire weekend in Grand Lake. Their Story: "We met 3 years ago playing video games online together. We lived in different countries (Canada & US) and took a leap of faith to meet-up in person for the first time. It went very well and we started dating during that trip. We continued our long distance relationship with constant phone calls and multiple visits until the pandemic. When we could finally visit each other again we got engaged. Our visa took a long time because of COVID, but we are finally together and ready to start our new life ❤”
Microwedding Details: Jewel tones and a black icing cake create a moody tone for this gorgeous Colorado microwedding. The couple celebrated with 17 of their closest family and friends, who all traveled from out-of-state & the country, by exchanging vows at Sapphire Point Overlook. Sabine walked down the aisle to "Perfect" by Ed Sheehan and "On Top of the Word" by Imagine Dragons sealed their kiss as a married couple. Afterwards, they went to Aurum Restaurant in Breckenridge to celebrate. The cake flavors were just as delicious as the flowers: Mascotte (a white cake, hazelnut flavor, filled with hazelnut buttercream for the top tier and the bottom tier, Black Forest (chocolate cake, kirsch flavor, whipped cream and tart cherries). Can we do another black cake please!!!!! Their Story: "We met in college as we both attended to University of Tennessee at Martin on rodeo scholarships. We both love rodeo, horses, dogs, and outdoor things. We picked a small Colorado wedding for a number of reasons. His hometown is 5 hours from where my family is from and where we are both currently living. Therefore, it would not be fair to either family to have it in either of our hometowns. Our close friends also live-in different areas in which long distance travel would be required. I have never dreamed of having a big elaborate wedding with hundreds of people. I have always pictured having a small destination wedding with our closest family in friends. My main priorities for the wedding is to have great pictures with a beautiful mountain backdrop. We both love skiing and the mountains in general and did not want to do the normal beach destination wedding theme.”
Wedding Details: Just take a look at how Ben reacts to Kenzley in their sentimental first look! Not only that, they wanted to make their first-look private and special. So, into their microwedding plans, they incorporated a gift exchange between the two of them along with private vows. Oh my - what a way to start off their heartfelt wedding with country character (does their wedding make you think of Yellowstone?). Jessica + Andy | Micro-Wedding in the Spring Mountains of Colorado at Sapphire Point Overlook4/3/2022 Their Story: "Andy and I started dating my sophomore year and his junior year of high school. We are going on 16 years of being together. We have 2 beautiful kids. At first we were wanting to elope but we are so close to our family that we couldn't imagine getting married without them there. Colorado is somewhere that we’ve always talked about going one day. We got engaged on the beach so we thought it would be cool to do the opposite and get married in the mountains.”
Micro-Wedding Details: After consulting with them on various micro-wedding venues that would be suitable for their group who mostly traveled from Missouri, they decided to marry at a small overlook in Summit County, Colorado (Breckenridge). They incorporated several personal touches, including their two kids as bridesmaid and groomsman. After the "I Do's", the group caravanned to a local restaurant to celebrate in a private room where they could do a few speeches. Jessica + Sean | Colorado Micro-Wedding Package in the Mountains at Sapphire Point Overlook4/2/2022 Their Story: We met in Springfield, IL at a local dive bar called “Bob’s Butternut Hut.”. We knew we wanted a smaller wedding and we take a ski trip every year so we decided to combine the two and have an elopement in the mountains with our closest friends and family.”
Micro-wedding Package Details: Jessica and Sean got married in the mountain of Colorado towards the end of ski season - after spring break, which is a great time of year when it starts to warm up and lodging rates start to drop. They had 35 guests present, 2 bridesmaids, 2 groomsmen and married at a gorgeous overlook which allow for seating. After their "I Do's", the group celebrated in a private room at a restaurant in Breckenridge. Their Story: "Robert and I met 6 or so years ago on a bowling team. The mountains are nostalgic for me. My family always vacationed to different areas of the mountains when I was young. Rob and I don't care to have more than our immediate family present, thats why a small Colorado wedding is perfect for us."
Micro-Wedding Package: Frankie and Robert traveled to Colorado from Florida for their small intimate wedding with their closest family and friends. They booked a couple of Vacasas for everyone to stay. After getting ready, we caravanned to Sapphire Point Overlook where they exchanged vows on a wintery day, but warm at heart with a sentimental ceremony performed by a close friend as guests were wrapped in cozy with blankets. After photos, the group traveled back to the vacation house where a personal chef awaited their arrival with heavy-bites appetizers and drinks. Wedding Details: Whitney and Andrew booked Wendee's favorite elopement package - it includes a little getting ready, caravanning to the ceremony site, the ceremony, photos and a little cake + cheers. Because of the wintery conditions, we mixed-up the timing and sequencing a little bit. After getting ready and the first-looks at their vacation condo (with their cute little 1=year-old), we popped some bubbly and had cake/celebrations BEFORE heading out to the ceremony site. This gave the family a little time to celebrate before a nanny arrive to take care of the cutie while the couple went to exchange vows just the two of them, privately. We ended our service after photos (all this in just 2-hours!), but the couple then went to a restaurant in Breckenridge for a romantic dinner.
Their Story: "Matt and I met at the same company we both still work for today. We became friends right away in 2011 after we were placed on the same work team. We started dating in August of 2013. As two introverts who prefer to mostly chill at home. We really enjoy our quiet life together with our two cats and also love to pursue our individual hobbies (Matt - reading, Kyrie - figure skating), and travel together. We decided to have a small wedding in Colorado because we both love hiking in the mountains, and I have always loved the idea of having a winter wedding that included lots of snow. What better place than Colorado where we have already enjoyed several trips together?!? We actually got engaged in Crested Butte while camping in 2019, so Colorado has always just felt like the perfect destination for our wedding.”
Wedding Details: Being introverts and loving the mountains, an inclusive micro-wedding package in Colorado was the perfect choice for them! They traveled with just seven guests to Colorado from Missouri. But, even though it was tiny, they still had elements of wedding that make it feel more than an eleopment. After getting ready at the vacation house where they all stayed, the group caravanned out to a nearby ceremony site - all prepared with warm clothing and ear muffs (great idea!). After photos, they went back to the vacation house where a private chef was waiting to serve amazing cuisine. Their Story: “Jamey and I met through mutual friends. We went on our first two dates and the knew almost right after that, that we have found our person. This is both of our second marriage and we knew we wanted something small and intimate. We were going to just elope with the kids there to witness it but then we decided we wanted to invite our parents and just a few friends. (So the smaller the better)! We didn’t want some big wedding where things start becoming more about everyone else rather than what we want. We both love Colorado but ironically have never been there together yet. So, this will be the first time together. The kids have never seen snow so we are going to thoroughly watch their reaction to seeing it!"
Wedding Details: Krista and Jamey traveled to Colorado from Florida with 12 close family members. They stayed in Summit County where there are world-class ski resorts so that the family could fully experience all of Colorado's winter activities. After getting ready and a first-look, they traveled to an overlook (yes, still accessible in the winter via a snow-packed trail, only a 3-minute walk) for their small & intimate wedding ceremony. They made their ceremony extra special by bringing their own officiant. After vows and group photos, they group went to a nearby brewery to celebrate with Colorado's finest beverages and food -mmmmm, yum! Jessica + Cory | All Inclusive Micro Wedding Package during Christmas time | Summit County, Colorado12/21/2021 Their Story: "Cory and I have known each other for 16 years. I used to work for him and hated his guts. Fast forward to 2017, no longer married, all our friends are married so we started hanging out together. One thing led to another, and here we are, engaged! You may wonder what drove us to get married in winter.........Christmas is my FAVORITE time of the year. It naturally provides so many beautiful colors and sparkles that I really wanted to get married at Christmas, so that’s what we are doing! I also LOVE the snow!.”
Wedding Details: A red bouquet, an abundance of snow, cozy blankets and green dresses - it all was a dreamy wintery Christmas time wedding. Since Jessica loves sparkle, she took our idea of having a simple buttercream cake, but adorn it with sugar for that tasteful glitter. Atop a red cake stand and accented with matching florals from her bouquet - it was the finishing touch to pull her winter Christmas wedding together. Their Story: "When it came to wedding planning, we both took into consideration how large our extended families are, and that we could either do an intimate ceremony with our parents, grandparents, and best friends, or we would have a very large ceremony with over 300 people. At the end of the day, we wanted to be able to celebrate our love and the next chapter in our lives in a way that best suited us - outside in the mountains in the midst of winter, surrounded by our immediate families and best friends. We will have a large celebration in June 2022 to incorporate the rest of our family and be able to mingle and embrace the chaos in a laid-back manner.”
Wedding Details: "Locals" to Colorado, Bekka + John decided to have a small destination wedding. Yes, even us who live in the Front Range like to travel to the mountains. Their all-inclusive package was complete with photographer (Andrea is amazing!), florals, officiant, cake, our planning services, benches for seating (and yes, in the winter we do bring cozy blankets) and an onsite coordinator who also plays music for the ceremony. One of our favorite moments (okay, there were LOTS) was the first look with Dad. ❤️ Miranda + Ryan | Small Destination Microwedding Package in the Snowy Mountains of Colorado12/1/2021 Their story: "Ryan and I are both medics. He is a paramedic and I am an EMT (currently). We were put on the same ambulance to work together and we connected almost instantly! Together we have a beautiful baby girl who is currently 9 months old and such an amazing baby. We have decided to have a small destination micorwedding because we feel like this will be something we would enjoy more for ourselves and our families rather than having a large wedding. We also love the cold weather and the snowy mountains! ”
Microwedding details: Miranda loved red and wanted some poinsettias in in bouquet ..... which yes! It *is* totally possible. And, to pull together the red theme, we colored the cake layers and designed it with a skim-coated textures so that the red could peek-through. The couple lodged at a vacation house and after getting ready, we caravanned to the ceremony site, said "I do", did group photos and then while sending the guests ahead to the restaurant, we finished photos with the couple. At the restaurant, there were some cheers and cutting of the cake (served as dessert though) before sitting down to dinner. Simple, sweet and definitely a day they could spend with family. |
