Their Story: Max and Mette live in Denver with their sweet golden retriever. "We quickly bonded over our love for the outdoors and adventure, and felt getting married in the mountains with just a few close friends was a perfect representation of our relationship. Our perfect day includes an early morning wake-up with strong coffee, a long, hard hike, and an outdoor brewery." ☕️ 🥾🍻
Micro-Wedding Plans: When Mette and Max reached out to us, they has already booked an amazing venue in the picturesque town of Buena Vista, Colorado. But, they needed help pulling together the logistics along with their needs and vision. They we started discussion how having a first-look and then doing couple-only photos with the photographer BEFORE the ceremony would offer a nice "flow" to the wedding day and give them an opprotunity to head into the mountains for those scenic mountain photos.
The Micro-Wedding Day: Get ready to swoon over Mette and Max's Buena Vista Colorado micro-wedding! This intimate celebration was full of stunning views and sweet moments. The bride started the day getting ready with her closest family and friends.... and furbaby 🐾, captured beautifully in detail shots. Meanwhile, the groom's family helped him prepare for the big day, pinning his boutonniere and lending their support. The couple's furry friend even got in on the action during their first-look at the unique Inn at BV. With their loved ones by their side, they took some family photos before heading out to a mountain lake for some breathtaking backdrops (just Mette, Max and the photographer). Upon returning to Buena Vista, the ceremony commenced while Mette walked-in with her dad into The Terrace on Main where their nearest and dearest were eagerly awaiting their arrival. The picturesque venue was the perfect setting for such a special occasion, with its garden decor and breathtaking views of the Colorado Collegiate Peaks Mountain Range. Following the ceremony, guests were treated to an amazing charcuterie board and drinks while the staff seamlessly transformed the space into a family-style dining table for 26 people. And as if that wasn't already enough, the personalized meal and heartfelt toasting from the father of the bride made this micro-wedding truly unforgettable. Let's just say, this couple definitely knows how to throw a party! 🥂

I've been planning weddings since 1995 when I moved to Colorado from Iowa. I cut my teeth at Keystone Resort in their wedding department, then then ventured on to planning corporate meetings. But, I kept helping friends and their friends with weddings starting my first full-service company in 2002 (yes - planned the big overwhelming ones). In 2012 with the birth of my son, values shifted and I decided to go small, intimate and meaningful. Please connect with me to make your dreamy, simple mountain wedding come true!
Behind the Scenes
Ever wonder what goes on behind-the-scenes of a micro-wedding day? Jaime L. Barba, one of our talented professional photographers, captured me at work from one of our May 2023 weddings in Boulder, Colorado. Enjoy! .... and yes, she does wedding-day content creation (a great alternative if you cannot afford videography) for couples as well as photography.
What is a wedding day content creator? It’s someone who is there on your wedding day taking pictures on a cell phone (or in Jaime's case, her professional equipement), documenting behind-the-scenes moments, capturing and telling stories, and delivering short-form media content of your wedding day in real-time.
