Their Story:  “We met in 2017.  We have two cats and love to travel.  We are outdoorsy people who love to hike. We’ve hiked all around Colorado Springs, including Pikes Peak. Most recently, we went to Juneau, Alaska which is where we got engaged. We looked into getting married in Kansas or Missouri, where we are from, but we feel much more drawn to the mountains.

Wedding Details:   We started working with Samantha and Shane about a year in advance of their wedding when the reached out to us through our ceremony site report services, which is a written consultation with detailed information about site options that will work with couple’s vision, budget, needs and priorities.  They identified their top priorities as having nice fall-colored florals, a mountain view for their ceremony and a private space at a restaurant for their celebration.  Check, check and check - we got it covered and see their photos below ⬇️ 🎉

Samantha and Shane chose to exchange vows at Sapphire Point Overlook in Summit County, traveling from Missouri with 20 guests, 2 bridesmaids and 2 groomsmen. They added on our benches for seating.  Other than that, their wedding is a great reflection of our standard 3.5-hour intimate wedding package which includes professional photography (and downloadable high-resolution images), bouquet & boutonniere, 2-tiered cake, officiant, my planning and an onsite coordinator.  They stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn in Breckenridge which also has a small banquet room in which they hired a personal chef.  This is a great option if you are looking for a place to both lodge and dine.  Samantha wanted to have a fall wedding with a rustic flair, mountain view snd privacy with family afterwards - they received that an much more  🫶🏻

If you are interested in a scenic, all inclusive micro-wedding package in Breckenridge, reach out to Wendee.  She can get you started with a customized ceremony site report, which is a written consultation of various natural and private spots that are customized to your needs, budget, vision, and priorities.  This is a great way to get started planning a Colorado small wedding.   🎉

Tips and Ideas:  Hosting a micro-wedding is a great solution form when traditional wedding plans don’t work - and one that is amazing for small destinations weddings.  But, that doesn’t mean you can’t incorporate traditional wedding elements, like having bridesmaids.  If you are in this situations, don’t worry.   You can make the most out of your micro-wedding bridesmaid lineup:
  • You can decide to go with a single bridesmaid or none at all. That way, the ones you choose will have lots of fun celebrating with you on your special day.
  • As an alternative, you can invite your closest friends and relatives to enjoy your wedding day without having the responsibility of performing the duties of a bridesmaid.  They would simple get ready with you and wear coordinating colors, yet still enjoy your wedding as a guest.   Read this article about how to have a non-bridesmaid wedding.
  • Limit their traditional bridesmaids tasks.  In most weddings, bridesmaids have plenty of roles and responsibilities, including organizing a bachelorette party or bridal shower, helping with wedding decorations, and planning the reception. However, you don’t necessarily need to have all that “hoopla” with a micro-wedding.  Your bridesmaids can sit back, relax and do nothing else but enjoy the ceremony and reception. This way, they’ll participate in the most critical parts of a wedding without getting overworked.
  • Be Selective - Choose your bridesmaids carefully and pick only the people who mean the most to you.  Often times, this is a best childhood friend, a sibling or even a parent who will make your special day even more beautiful and memorable. Remember, it is about quality, not quantity, especially when it comes to the bridal party. With that said, only invite the people you cannot imagine getting married without.
  • Make it Personal - To show appreciation to your bridesmaids, give them a personalized gift. It can either be matching jewelry or even clothing. The fact that you went the extra mile will show them that you cherish them, and you're thankful for their support.  Better yet - tell your planner and photographer that you plan to give them a gift and before your adorn your dress, you can get photos of the gift exchange.
Planning a big wedding can be stressful which s why in today's unconventional world, micro-weddings are becoming more popular. However, this does not mean you have to ditch traditional elements.  With these tips, you figure out how to have 2 bridesmaids at a micro-wedding.  But ultimately the wedding day is about you, your partner, and the love you share, so make every moment count.

If you are interested in a beautiful, all inclusive micro-wedding package in Colorado, or need any consulting with logistics, reach out to Wendee.  She can get you started with a customized ceremony site report, which is a written consultation, of various natural and private spots that are very affordable and also accommodate your needs, vision, and priorities.  This is a great way to get started planning a Colorado micro-wedding.   🎉

    About Wendee

I've been planning weddings since 1995 when I moved to Colorado from Iowa.  I cut my teeth at Keystone Resort in their wedding department, then ventured on to planning corporate meetings.  But, I kept helping friends, and their friends with weddings, eventually starting my first full-service company in 2002 (yes - planned the big overwhelming ones).  In 2012 with the birth of my son, values shifted and I decided to "go small" with intimate and meaningful micro-weddings  Please connect with me to  make your dreamy, simple mountain wedding come true!

    Behind the Scenes

Ever wonder what goes on behind-the-scenes of a micro-wedding day?  Jaime L. Barba, one of our talented professional photographers, captured me at work from one of our May 2023 weddings in Boulder, Colorado.  Enjoy! .... and yes, she does wedding-day content creation (a great alternative if you cannot afford videography) for couples as well as photography.

    Content Creation

What is a wedding day content creator?  It’s someone who is there on your wedding day taking pictures on a cell phone (or in Jaime's case, her professional equipement), documenting behind-the-scenes moments, capturing and telling stories, and delivering short-form media content of your wedding day in real-time.  Checkout one from our  September 2023 weddings  ⬇️.
