Their Story: "We started dating in September of 2020. Our relationship moved very fas and we got engaged October 2021. If we stayed close to home for the wedding we would probably have close to 200 guests! We were overwhelmed with the price tag of a large wedding. I'm also not crazy about spending all that money to put on a show for 200 people when the wedding should be about us. I also feel like during our dating relationship and due to Covid + social distancing, it's just been the two of us for two years. That's when I'm most comfortable and prefer that for a wedding and ceremony! We also love the mountains and Colorado so thought it would be the perfect place!" Wedding Details: We started working with Kati and Conor about 9 months in advance of their wedding when the reached out to us through our ceremony site report services, which is a written consultation with detailed information about site options that will work with couple’s vision, budget, needs and priorities. They identified their top priorities as an a first look reading personal vows to each other, a toast at dinner (but no official speeches) and music at the ceremony. Check, check and check - we got it covered and see their photos below ⬇️ 🎉 Katie and Conor chose to exchange vows at Sapphire Point Overlook in Summit County, traveling from Arkansas with 23 guests. They added on our benches for seating. Other than that, their wedding is a great reflection of our standard 3.5-hour intimate wedding package which includes professional photography (and downloadable high-resolution images), bouquet & boutonniere, 2-tiered cake, officiant, my planning and an onsite coordinator. They stayed at an AirBNB in Breckenridge and celebrated at a Mexican restaurant. Katie wanted a light and airy wedding, mainly neutral with soft accents - sweet! To honor her closest friends, she invited them to do hair & makeup and get ready together, though they weren’t official bridesmaids and got to enjoy their wedding as guests. This wedding is a wonderful reflection of keeping a small micro-wedding sweet, easy, simple and classy with quality elements and a focus on marriage. If you are interested in a scenic, all inclusive micro-wedding package in Breckenridge, reach out to Wendee. She can get you started with a customized ceremony site report, which is a written consultation of various natural and private spots that are customized to your needs, budget, vision, and priorities. This is a great way to get started planning a Colorado small wedding. 🎉 Tips and Ideas: Normally one of the top priorities for couples is a scenic mountain view, and if you’ve spent any time on my website, you’ll see that almost every wedding we do has a unique outdoorsy backdrop in the heart of the Rockies. So, it was unique to read that they place a high value on those intimate moments during a first-look (article for more first-look ideas). For the toasting, sometimes restaurants frown on doing any kind of announcements or speeches since they have other diners and don’t than their experience to be impacted. So, often we will plan for a toast at the ceremony site either before or after group photos. Tip: bring a cooler of individual bottles for guests (remember the openers and a trash back) so that is make the serving easier and efficient. But like Kati and Conor - bring your own bottle and personalized glasses 🥂 For the ceremony music, as standard we bring a bluetooth speaker to play some ambiance music when the guests are gathering, a entrance song, occasionally a song if you do any unity ceremony, and a kiss/exit song. We also like to play some festive music during the photo taking too. We don’t profess to be professional DJ’s, and if having one is a high priority for you, we can make recommendations (budget $750-$1,000 for that!). Sometimes our couples will have a friend that is a musician and will play for their ceremony. And, if you want to hire a musician, we can recommend pianists, cellist, violinist, flutist, bagpipes, and harpists (budget $350 to $750+). For live musicians and outdoor ceremonies, keep in mind that they may want to say out of direct sunlight to protect their instruments, they may not play in inclement weather and likely they will not do outdoor ceremonies in cold weather (think saliva freezing). But, even if you have a musician planned, we bring a back-up Bluetooth speaker with a playlist cued! If you are interested in a beautiful, all inclusive micro-wedding package in Colorado, or need any consulting with logistics, reach out to Wendee. She can get you started with a customized ceremony site report, which is a written consultation, of various natural and private spots that are very affordable and also accommodate your needs, vision, and priorities. This is a great way to get started planning a Colorado micro-wedding. 🎉

Behind the ScenesEver wonder what goes on behind-the-scenes of a micro-wedding day? Jaime L. Barba, one of our talented professional photographers, captured me at work from one of our May 2023 weddings in Boulder, Colorado. Enjoy! .... and yes, she does wedding-day content creation (a great alternative if you cannot afford videography) for couples as well as photography.
Content CreationWhat is a wedding day content creator? It’s someone who is there on your wedding day taking pictures on a cell phone (or in Jaime's case, her professional equipement), documenting behind-the-scenes moments, capturing and telling stories, and delivering short-form media content of your wedding day in real-time. Checkout one from our September 2023 weddings ⬇️.
