Their Story: "Even though Austin was born and raised in Kansas and I’ve lived in Nebraska all my life, our paths crossed several years ago. I really didn’t want a big wedding and we both love the mountains, so a small mountain wedding seemed perfect! I have 3 kids and we’re excited to include them in the ceremony!". Wedding Details: A great way to incorporate kids into the wedding day is to not only have them has junior bridesmaids & groomsmen, but to also do a sand ceremony in which each member of the newly formed family pours a little sand into a decorative jar. After their getting-ready, they decided to do a private first look where they read their wedding vows to each other, which is a great way to incorporate meaningful sentimental moments just for the two of you (learn more about first look ideas). The ceremony was held at a gorgeous overlook that accommodates up to 35 guests - a perfect small wedding outdoor venue in Colorado! After the ceremony and group photos, we spent a little more time with only the couple doing a mini photoshoot not only at the ceremony site, but also the nearby lakeshores for a variety of backdrops. They then met-up with their guests at a small golf course property where they were the only ones (yes, kind of like your own private small venue). More Tips and Ideas: Natalie and Austin booked our 3-hour intimate wedding package which includes photographer, officiant, florals, cake, planning and onsite coordination. Their only additions were a few more spray bouquets and boutonniere for their kids and our benches/seating for the guests. Natalie wanted a voluptuous and flowing bouquet with burgundy, deep fuchsia and accents of coral/peach with whites and greenery - it was gorgeous for a summer wedding adding a “pop” to the natural backdrop of mountains, lake and trees. For the cake, yes - you can order different flavors for the top and bottom tiers:
Photographer: Jeanine Thurston Photography| Florist: Stefanie Hofmeister | Baker: La Patisserie Francaise
Officiant: Chris Mohr | Hair & Makeup: DIY (sister-in-law) | Seating: Custom Weddings of Colorado | Lodging: VRBO | Dinner: Breckenridge Golf Course

Behind the ScenesEver wonder what goes on behind-the-scenes of a micro-wedding day? Jaime L. Barba, one of our talented professional photographers, captured me at work from one of our May 2023 weddings in Boulder, Colorado. Enjoy! .... and yes, she does wedding-day content creation (a great alternative if you cannot afford videography) for couples as well as photography.
Content CreationWhat is a wedding day content creator? It’s someone who is there on your wedding day taking pictures on a cell phone (or in Jaime's case, her professional equipement), documenting behind-the-scenes moments, capturing and telling stories, and delivering short-form media content of your wedding day in real-time.
