Their Story: "I am a special education teacher for an inner city grade school. My fiancé works for as a Tax Associate. We met through a dating site. I want the wedding to be simple and the views in CO are amazing. Bottom line this helps limit the number of people we can have.”

Wedding Details: Ann + Holden first started planning with us through our Ceremony Site Report where they identified their priorities as having a scenic mountain backdrop, her dad walking her down and aisle, and enjoying time with her family and friends. And yes, that is all possible with a small wedding. In fact, we try to make your entrances special, even if the wedding is in an open field, or a lake shore - and, what helps is an onsite coordinator who can bring a little speaker for music and ambiance. Ann + Holden decided to stay in a 5-bedroom vacation home in Breckenridge, do a first-look and afterwards we caravanned to Sapphire Point Overlook to exchange vows. After group photos, we returned back to the vacation home that allowed for small private parties (very important: make sure you get in writing approval to host any event at an AirBNB or VRBO). The only upgrades to their package were seating/benches and additional florals for the flower boys.

Tips and Ideas: Yes, having a small destination micro-wedding can definitely help with guest list management. Naturally it limits your group size so that you can explain to people (like co-workers who might be expecting an invite), that you are having an out-of-state intimate wedding with immediate family and your closest of friends. By selecting a site that has a limit also encourages you to take a hard look at the guest list: will these people be in your lives in the next 10 years? Are they people that you would invite into your home for a small dinner party?
