Their Story: "I am a special education teacher for an inner city grade school. My fiancé works for as a Tax Associate. We met through a dating site. I want the wedding to be simple and the views in CO are amazing. Bottom line this helps limit the number of people we can have.”
Wedding Details: Ann + Holden first started planning with us through our Ceremony Site Report where they identified their priorities as having a scenic mountain backdrop, her dad walking her down and aisle, and enjoying time with her family and friends. And yes, that is all possible with a small wedding. In fact, we try to make your entrances special, even if the wedding is in an open field, or a lake shore - and, what helps is an onsite coordinator who can bring a little speaker for music and ambiance. Ann + Holden decided to stay in a 5-bedroom vacation home in Breckenridge, do a first-look and afterwards we caravanned to Sapphire Point Overlook to exchange vows. After group photos, we returned back to the vacation home that allowed for small private parties (very important: make sure you get in writing approval to host any event at an AirBNB or VRBO). The only upgrades to their package were seating/benches and additional florals for the flower boys.
Tips and Ideas: Yes, having a small destination micro-wedding can definitely help with guest list management. Naturally it limits your group size so that you can explain to people (like co-workers who might be expecting an invite), that you are having an out-of-state intimate wedding with immediate family and your closest of friends. By selecting a site that has a limit also encourages you to take a hard look at the guest list: will these people be in your lives in the next 10 years? Are they people that you would invite into your home for a small dinner party? If you are thinking about having a small wedding that has more of the traditional elements (just scaled back), checkout our price estimator and then reach out to Wendee for more information about our Intimate Wedding Package. We'd love to help you avoid overwhelm, keep within a reasonable budget and enjoy the day with your closest people.

I've been planning weddings since 1995 when I moved to Colorado from Iowa. I cut my teeth at Keystone Resort in their wedding department, then then ventured on to planning corporate meetings. But, I kept helping friends and their friends with weddings starting my first full-service company in 2002 (yes - planned the big overwhelming ones). In 2012 with the birth of my son, values shifted and I decided to go small, intimate and meaningful. Please connect with me to make your dreamy, simple mountain wedding come true!
Behind the Scenes
Ever wonder what goes on behind-the-scenes of a micro-wedding day? Jaime L. Barba, one of our talented professional photographers, captured me at work from one of our May 2023 weddings in Boulder, Colorado. Enjoy! .... and yes, she does wedding-day content creation (a great alternative if you cannot afford videography) for couples as well as photography.
What is a wedding day content creator? It’s someone who is there on your wedding day taking pictures on a cell phone (or in Jaime's case, her professional equipement), documenting behind-the-scenes moments, capturing and telling stories, and delivering short-form media content of your wedding day in real-time.
