Their Story: "Mary is a high school history teacher and basketball coach and I (Sarah) run an Oral Surgery practice. Mary is also a musician and singer and I came across one of her singing videos. I jumped on the opportunity to meet her and we have been together ever since. The summer of 2022 will mark our 2 year anniversary and we have both dreamed about a simple mountain wedding. We share a love for nature and hiking and all things outdoors. Colorado will be our future home." Wedding Details: Sarah and Mary first reached out with our Ceremony Site Report. Important to them were to have mountain views, the first look at the ceremony, and to have amazing photos. We nailed all three! They hosted an incredible simple small mountain wedding with 25 of their closes family and friends. We mixed-up our usual sequencing of events and rather than capturing getting ready photos, we met the couple and their guests at the ceremony site. For same-sex weddings, there are a variety of ways your can walk-in.... keeping the traditional elements or making it unique to you. In fact, Mary's sister officiated and Sarah's son was the usher and main flower man. They were able to keep their dresses a secret from each other and incorporated special touches - like Sarah gifting Mary a cool hat! After group and couple-only photos, we caravanned to Breckenridge to a vacation home they rented and allowed for small groups where we cut the cake and celebrated! More Tips and Ideas: If you would like to plan a same-sex wedding in the mountains, please reach out to Wendee. Our base packages at this site start at $4,800 (3.5 hours); you can checkout our price estimator for additions (benches, extra time, centerpieces, etc.). For Sarah + Mary, the only addition to their wedding was the seating. Not only are there great vacation homes in this Breckenridge, there are amazing hotels, condos and restaurants that feature either small private dining rooms or semi-private dining areas where groups of 12-, 20-, 35- can gather and celebrate. We work behind-the-scenes and include planning, professional photographer, florals, cake, officiants, and an onsite coordinator (pickups/deliveries, music). Our packages are created to make your planning process easy (we guide you along the way providing small bite-sized chunks of "homework"), and your wedding day to be fun focusing on friends, family and your partner. I cut my teeth at Keystone Resort in their wedding department, then then ventured on to planning corporate meetings. But, I kept helping friends and their friends with weddings starting my first full-service company in 2002 (yes - planned the big overwhelming ones). In 2012 with the birth of my son, values shifted and I decided to go small, intimate and meaningful. Please connect with me to make your dreamy, simple mountain wedding come true!
Behind the ScenesEver wonder what goes on behind-the-scenes of a micro-wedding day? Jaime L. Barba, one of our talented professional photographers, captured me at work from one of our May 2023 weddings in Boulder, Colorado. Enjoy! .... and yes, she does wedding-day content creation (a great alternative if you cannot afford videography) for couples as well as photography.
Content CreationWhat is a wedding day content creator? It’s someone who is there on your wedding day taking pictures on a cell phone (or in Jaime's case, her professional equipement), documenting behind-the-scenes moments, capturing and telling stories, and delivering short-form media content of your wedding day in real-time.
