Their Story: “We met at work. We wanted a wedding with just us and our kids. We like the idea of casual intimate and fun. We like the views and the outdoors, but aren’t “outdoorsy” people.” Wedding Details: No worries if you are not up for a hike on your micro-wedding day or elopement day. In fact, MOST all the spots we know about for our weddings do not require a hike. We first started consulting with Karla and Justin through our Ceremony Site Report and quickly came to the conclusion that renting out a vacation house for their small family elopement wedding was the ideal situation. Their only guests would be their four children, so with six people total, it would be no problem to find a luxury vacation house in Breckenridge that would accommodate. After the getting-ready photos and first-look, the conducted the ceremony. For a change of backdrops, we took the family to nearby Lake Dillon for some more photos. Upon return to the vacation house, we did some cheers (yes, you can do that with juice for the kids) and there was a private chef waiting with appetizers and then a dinner. More Tips and Ideas: Karla and Justin booked our 3-hour elopement package which includes photographer, officiant, florals, cake, planning and onsite coordination. Their only additions were a couple more bouquets and boutonnieres for their kids. Though renting out an AirBNB or VRBO vacation house for a small wedding worked for their size group, it doesn’t always fit with larger small-groups (say over 12 to 20 guests). If you are wanting to rent a vacation home, then please read our article about what to consider when planning a vacation house wedding for your micro-wedding as there are necessary approvals, permits and logistics (i.e. parking) to consider. If you’d like to book a small intimate destination wedding package in the mountains at a vacation house that is stress-free and easy, please reach out to Wendee for a customized quote or get started with our Ceremony Site Report. Behind the ScenesEver wonder what goes on behind-the-scenes of a micro-wedding day? Jaime L. Barba, one of our talented professional photographers, captured me at work from one of our May 2023 weddings in Boulder, Colorado. Enjoy! .... and yes, she does wedding-day content creation (a great alternative if you cannot afford videography) for couples as well as photography.
Content CreationWhat is a wedding day content creator? It’s someone who is there on your wedding day taking pictures on a cell phone (or in Jaime's case, her professional equipement), documenting behind-the-scenes moments, capturing and telling stories, and delivering short-form media content of your wedding day in real-time.
