Their Story: “We met in high school and have been together for 7 years. We love traveling, hiking, National Parks and mountains. And thus so, we love the idea of a wedding in the mountains. We are simple and reserved so we knew we wanted our wedding to be intimate with only the people that mean the most to us.” Wedding Details: Julia and Nick had already booked the Overlook Chapel, right next to Rocky Mountain National Park, when they had reached out to us. They needed help making their small wedding of 26 guests easy, affordable and to flow well with the reception spot they had booked. We usually don’t do morning weddings, but this was a more affordable time block. To add to that, the venue wasn’t going to allow for any setup until 10:30 am - when the ceremony was scheduled. So, we planned for getting ready at the AirBNB the bride’s parents had rented. Because the groom was staying elsewhere, we did the wedding near the ceremony site to help with logistics. Occasionally, I will officiate the ceremony - yes, I am an ordained minster. I don’t promote this too much, but for them the date worked out well. For a small fee, I add on my officiating and provide a ceremony writing guide (templated) to the couple so that they can write and personalize their own ceremony. We kept the photography to 3 hours by not going to the reception spot afterwards. So, while we were finishing up after the ceremony with group and the couple photos, my onsite coordinator Celine headed over to the reception spot to delivery and decorate the cake. She was also able to drop a few centerpieces the couple had added on. So, even if you have your ceremony site and restaurant booked, we can help couples with the planning logistics so that there is a smooth sequence to the day. If you are interested in a scenic, all inclusive small-wedding package in Estes Park, reach out to Wendee. She can get you started with a customized ceremony site report, which is a written consultation of various natural and private spots that are customized to your needs, budget, vision, and priorities. This is a great way to get started planning a Colorado small wedding. 🎉 Tips and Ideas: Even though the average Nation-wide cost of a small wedding of 35 guests or fewer is significantly less than a more traditional wedding of 100+ guests ($12,000 compared to $35,000), it can still be a lot of money for many of our couples. We often will see couples with overall budgets of around $10,000. This includes not only the ceremony package, but a causal reception, attire and travel/lodging to your destination. There are a few key budgeting tips and tricks to keep even a small wedding affordable:

Behind the ScenesEver wonder what goes on behind-the-scenes of a micro-wedding day? Jaime L. Barba, one of our talented professional photographers, captured me at work from one of our May 2023 weddings in Boulder, Colorado. Enjoy! .... and yes, she does wedding-day content creation (a great alternative if you cannot afford videography) for couples as well as photography.
Content CreationWhat is a wedding day content creator? It’s someone who is there on your wedding day taking pictures on a cell phone (or in Jaime's case, her professional equipement), documenting behind-the-scenes moments, capturing and telling stories, and delivering short-form media content of your wedding day in real-time.
