Their Story: “We are both in the aviation industry and have our pilots license. We met at aviation maintenance school. A small, intimate setting is more our style. We like local bed and breakfasts and exploring. We initially almost moved to Denver years ago.” Thus began the planning for Kate and Chris’s destination Colorado micro-wedding package with 23 of their guests mostly traveling from St. Louis and Philadelphia. Planning Details: We started working with Kate and Chris about six months in advance of their micro-wedding wedding of 20 guests when they reached out to us through our ceremony site report services, which is a written consultation with detailed information about site options that will work with couple’s vision, budget, needs and priorities. For their Colorado micro-wedding, they identified their top priorities as having scenic mountain views, uniquely intimate ceremony, an unforgettable experience and great photography. Check, check and check - we got it covered and see their photos below ⬇️ 🎉 I’m biased, but I think any wedding in the mountains is unforgettable. With having 20 or fewer guests, there are more places you can go that I wouldn’t take a group of over 20 (mountain passes, you could ride a gondola). But, In think just having a spectacular view and a fun time with your guests is unforgettable. Wedding Details: It was also important for Kate and Chris to have nice florals, a more secluded spot and seating for guests at their Colorado micro-wedding. So, they chose to exchange vows at Sapphire Point Overlook in Summit County, which is a great venue for small wedding…. But I wouldn’t necessarily consider it secluded as it is situated off a heavily trafficked trail. Though, we do setup signage that states “wedding in progress” and thus most visitors are respectful. Read this article for more detailed tips and current information at Sapphrie Point. Throughout their planning, they decided to add three bridesmaids and three groomsmen. We do add florals for wedding parties and a little extra timing to get those fun group photos. The couple and bridal party stayed at the Timer’s Edge vacation house managed by Paragon Lodging, and then had a first-look and a few pre-wedding photos before convoying out to the micro-wedding venue. Afterwards, they had group photos. When finished with that, we sent the guests ahead to the Hearthstone restaurant to enjoy some cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while finishing with about 15 minutes of photos with only the couple. An average time allotment for this type of micro-wedding package is about 3.5 to 4.0 hours, depending on the timing to/from the ceremony venue and restaurant. Behind the ScenesEver wonder what goes on behind-the-scenes of a micro-wedding day? Jaime L. Barba, one of our talented professional photographers, captured me at work from one of our May 2023 weddings in Boulder, Colorado. Enjoy! .... and yes, she does wedding-day content creation (a great alternative if you cannot afford videography) for couples as well as photography.
Content CreationWhat is a wedding day content creator? It’s someone who is there on your wedding day taking pictures on a cell phone (or in Jaime's case, her professional equipement), documenting behind-the-scenes moments, capturing and telling stories, and delivering short-form media content of your wedding day in real-time.
