Their Story: They met in college when Avery saw him sitting at a table. Three months later, they went on their first date! "A small wedding is best for us because we want a more intimate experience for our close family and friends. We also do not want to spend an extravagant amount of money considering we would like to purchase a home together and start a family in the near future. We also don’t want the stress of a big wedding and want to make sure the day is filled with love and about celebrating each other with the people we love the most. We both love Colorado because we are both outdoorsy and it’s where we got engaged (Colorado Springs)!" Wedding Details: Avery and Tyler first started working with us through the Ceremony Site Report where the identified priorities as having a scenic forest ceremony that is easy to access, to walk down an "aisle" with music, a first-look and seating at the ceremony. Check, check, check and check! She wanted a forest, romantic, whimsical vibe with her favorite color: yellow. Their small group of 26 guests traveled mainly from the Kansas City are and stayed in Dillon Colorado. After getting-ready and their first look, the group carpooled caravanned to Sapphire Point Overlook for the ceremony where we had umbrellas and benches waiting, drying them off to make guests comfortable. There was no way a few showers were going to affect this couple’s day and Avery's smile was contagious. And, half way through the ceremony, the showers stopped. After the ceremony, we cleared the benches for some celebrating and dancing before the guests went to the restaurant while we finished a few photos with the couple around Lake Dillon. Tips and Ideas: If the weather looks threatening on the day of the wedding, be sure to bring the umbrellas and embrace it! Colorado weather patterns are fickle - one minute it can be sunny, the next a quick shower moves through the area, and then the next moment we have a sun shower. right before it clears up and the sun comes out. What does this mean for your wedding? Incredible colors for photography! It can get a little chilly after showers, so tell your guests to dress in layer and bring a shawl or blanket for yourself. For small weddings, we do scope-out nearby park shelters to hijack (if needed), but honestly - wait 10 minutes and the weather usually passes. Behind the ScenesEver wonder what goes on behind-the-scenes of a micro-wedding day? Jaime L. Barba, one of our talented professional photographers, captured me at work from one of our May 2023 weddings in Boulder, Colorado. Enjoy! .... and yes, she does wedding-day content creation (a great alternative if you cannot afford videography) for couples as well as photography.
Content CreationWhat is a wedding day content creator? It’s someone who is there on your wedding day taking pictures on a cell phone (or in Jaime's case, her professional equipement), documenting behind-the-scenes moments, capturing and telling stories, and delivering short-form media content of your wedding day in real-time.
