Ashely + Clay | A small, simple, minimalistic yet gorgeous wedding in the Colorado Mountains8/6/2023 Their Story: “Clay and I are both in the veterinary field, and we met while working at the same hospital. We were just friends for a while until one night Clay invited me over to watch the Georgia game with him and then, a few days later, we went on our first date. Over the last 3 years, we have enjoyed traveling, being outdoors, and just going on whatever life's next adventure holds. So, we thought, what better place to get married than beautiful Colorado? We planned on doing an elopement just the two of us, but when word got out, everyone wanted to come, and that was when we started looking into smaller-style weddings that could fit my small but important group of guests. Since about half of our guests have never traveled outside of the southeast, it just made sense to do a small Colorado wedding!” Wedding Details: We love working with couples who have a sense of adventure! When Ashely and Clay first reached out to us, they had a plan in mind: 15-20 guests, no bridesmaids/groomsmen, a July timeframe. and at Sapphire Point Overlook in Summit County. Their priorities were great photography, scenic mountain views and to have a coordinator help make the day run smoothly so that they can have a good time - check, check and check! They booked a gorgeous vacation house in Breckenridge where the two of them (and their immediate families) could get ready. While Stefanie (one of our onsite coordinators) was at the vacation house, we had a second coordinator arrive to delivery and setup benches for seating at Sapphire Point. Ashely and Clay kept everything very minimal and simplistic which allowed them time to enjoy moments with their guests, including having a first-look at the vacation house where they read private vows to each other. We then caravanned to the wedding venue and choreographed a simple walk-in with the bride and her mom to “Can’t Help Falling in Love” piano instrumental. After the ceremony, we signed the license, and did group photos. The guests went ahead of the couple to a restaurant in Frisco while we finished photos with Ashely and Clay - just the two of them. At arrival to the restaurant, they cut their cake and had a few cheers before being seated to dinner. This is our normal flow to timing & sequencing on a micro-wedding day. If you’ve been spending time on our galleries, you’ll see that we occasionally do have couples mix-up the flow, which is totally okay. Lining up the logistics is one of our specialties so that everything runs smoothly. Tips and Ideas: One of the best things Ashley did was spend time on our galleries. Before she even reached out to us, she knew our style, was familiar with the package, and even knew the site in which she wanted to get married. Though, if you don’t have the time to do that, or you LOVE everything you see on our galleries, the Ceremony Site Report would be great for you as we take into consideration your number of guests, budget, time of year, and needs to narrow down the site options that would fit best for you. Ashley and Clay went simple with: they didn’t have any attendants, no ceremony decor (just a gorgeous dress, bouquet, and the mountains!), they didn’t have extra schwag or tchotchkes at the restaurant, no added-on musicians, no dances (though we love doing it!), no grand entrances or announcements, no long-winded life story speeches…. And yet, it was AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL! So, yes, you can keep things simple and basic with just the right elements to make it a small stunning wedding.
