Megan + Derek's Colorado Elopement Package at Blue Lake in the Fall with Aspens and Mountains9/29/2022 Their Story: "We met when we were 9 and 10 years old. Although we’ve known each other for 24 years, we didn’t exactly become friends until after high school. We became “pen pals” if you will and we continued to keep up with each other over the years through social media. We connected much later in 2019 where the sparks flew and we have been in love ever since. We chose a Colorado elopement because we wanted something intimate. This moment is about us and we want to soak-up as much as we can. Colorado is gorgeous! The aspen trees will be beautiful that time of year, so we expect an intimate moment with a beautiful view. We enjoy being outside on a trail or on the water. We are very happy to be on this journey. When people say “when you know, you know”. Well, that’s so true. We know and feel lucky to marry our best friends." Megan and Derek's Colorado elopement is a story of love and adventure. They wanted a unique and intimate ceremony, so they decided to elope in the beautiful surroundings of Blue Lake, Colorado. With no guests, no officiant and a minimalist approach, we crafted a special and personal event that truly reflected their personalities and values. On their Colorado elopement day, they worked with our wedding coordinator, Kait, who made sure that every detail was taken care of. From picking up flowers from Stefanie's Shop to delivering the cake at the ceremony site, Kait made sure that everything was seamless and stress-free. Megan and Derek wanted to enjoy every moment of their special day, and they did so by working with Wendee's trusted COLORADO ELOPEMENT PACKAGE that includes quality vendors. We'll take you through their Colorado elopement day and give you a glimpse of the love and joy that they experienced. From the first look to the post-wedding celebration, we'll share every detail of their special day. Megan and Derek started their elopement day with a hair and makeup session at Breckenridge Hair Company. Kait arrived at their condo and picked up their belongings. She made sure that everything was set-out, including shoes, jewelry, and the wedding dress so that when Jeanine arrived, she was focused behind the lens capturing amazing photos. Megan's dress was simple and elegant, with a zipper at the back. She looked jaw-droopingly stunning and elegant! Since Kait was a good friend of the bride, they traveled together to a secret spot around Blue Lake for their First Look. It was a private and intimate moment that they shared with each other and their photographer. They exchanged gifts, laughed, and shed a few tears. While Jeanine spent some time with them, Kait Blue Lake to set up the ceremony site. Megan and Derek headed to Blue Lake for their ceremony. They brought a warm jacket, blanket, and shawl, as it could get windy by the lake. They self-solemnized their marriage as they were legally married in Tennessee (but that is okay if you aren't - self-solemnization is legal in Colorado). The ceremony took place at the Lower Lake area by the shore. It was a casual, standing ceremony that truly reflected their personalities. Megan walked down the aisle with the song "Roslyn" by Bon Iver and St. Vincent playing in the background (yes, we bring a small Bluetooth speaker to elopements so that you can have a little bit of ambiance).. They exchanged their vows and rings and celebrated their love with the post-wedding song "Lady May" by Tyler Childers. It was a beautiful and emotional moment that they shared only with each other. The flowers at Megan and Derek's Colorado elopement focused on warm rust-burnt orange and brown colors. The rustic vibe of the flowers had different textures, and like the dried look with weeds/grasses. The boutonniere matched the color palette of the flowers, and the cake florals/greenery/grasses complemented the overall look and feel of the wedding. The flowers were a perfect blend of outdoorsy elegance and natural simplicity with variety, depth and textures. The perfect Colorado elopement cake is both delicious and visually stunning. Megan and Derek's cake featured a smooth icing with gold flakes. It's not fondant, which can sometimes be too heavy and overwhelming in terms of flavor. The cake's flavor and filling had us drooling - the Couronne. It is a chocolate cake flavored with coffee liquor, one layer of mocha buttercream, one layer of chocolate buttercream finished in mocha buttercream. The combination of chocolate and coffee liquor made this cake a hit among both Megan and Derek's taste buds. Megan and Derek's Colorado elopement was a beautiful celebration of their love. They crafted a unique and personal event that truly reflected who they were as a couple. With the help of our COLORADO ELOPEMENT PACKAGE which includes Wendee's planning and an onsite coordinator (we have three specialists!), they were able to enjoy every moment of their special day without any stress or worries. Content CreationWhat is a wedding day content creator? It’s someone who is there on your wedding day taking pictures on a cell phone (or in Jaime's case, her professional equipement), documenting behind-the-scenes moments, capturing and telling stories, and delivering short-form media content of your wedding day in real-time.
