Amanda + Josh
Summit County Small Wedding Package | Summit County, Colorado in January 2020
Their story: "In January we will have been dating for 8 years and engaged for 2 of those years. We are both from a very small town. We didn’t know each other when we were in school. It wasn’t until we had been out of school for 10+ years that he caught my eye on Facebook and I wrote him a message. After 3 years there we were ready for a whole new adventure, we applied to jobs all over the country and both landed jobs in Denver. We have fallen in love with Colorado and I feel it really is where life truly began for us. We chose to have an intimate wedding because we are looking for a unique experience for not only us, but for our closest family. We love the idea of the simplicity of a small wedding focused on what really matters. We couldn’t see ourselves being married in a big ceremony and reception. We are adventurous, love the outdoors and we can’t imagine saying I do anywhere else."
Wedding details: Amanda and Josh decided to have their "first look" at their vacation house. For those of you who aren't familiar, first looks are a private event with just the couple and the photographer. First looks are where the groom will be waiting on his bride (with his back turned towards her). The bride will be prepped by the coordinator (dress fluffing, fly aways, how to hold the bouquet, what to say etc.) We then leave them for their own private moments (the family is tucked-away too), but the photographer is there capturing their emotions when he sees his bride for the very first time. It is by far one of our favorite moments of the day. If you'd like to learn more about the pros/cons of first looks and how couples have customized it, like reading their vows to each other, please read my article all about first looks.
