Their Story: “We met 8 years ago at work and have always stayed in touch. We eventually were in the right place at the right time, and it has been history ever since. We want a small intimate wedding with immediate friends/family. We both love mountain and think it would be gorgeous to say, “I do” surrounded with beautiful scenery." Wedding Details: We mixed up our standard timing with this wedding in order to focus more photos post-wedding with their bridesmaids and groomsmen rather than getting ready. Yes, with 6 on each side, we do recommend a rehearsal the day prior. That way, we all had a plan to meet at the ceremony site to pin boutonnieres, get guests situated and seated (yes, we do have benches that you can reserve), and choreograph the bridesmaids entrances. After saying "I DO" the best man and matron of honor set-off a gender reveal smoke bomb. And yes, this couple has the cutest family! Their Story: "We’re choosing small because we like the idea of our closest loved ones sharing this moment with us. Also, we want it to be nice but affordable. And in Colorado, my fiancée likes the Colorado scenery and the Broncos.” Wedding Details: To surprise the groom, Maribel was able to hire Miles, the Denver Bronco's mascot, to arrive at the vacation house they had rented in Breckenridge Colorado during their getting ready moments and to kick-off the wedding festivities with a few firecrackers. After their first look, they incorporated a Native American hair braiding ceremony - private between the two of them - before heading off to the ceremony site with 19 of their closest friends and family. After the ceremony and group photos, they headed back to the vacation house to celebrate. Photographer: Andrea Flanagan Photography | Florist: Stefanie Hofmeister | Baker: La Patisserie Francaise
We love a tasteful dark, moody and spooky Halloween wedding. Charlie and Tyler traveled from Delaware to celebrate their microwedding in Colorado with 25 guests, staying at a vacation house. The group caravanned out to a scenic wedding spot overlooking Lake Dillon and then celebrated in a private room at a restaurant in Breckenridge. The jewel-toned florals complimented the brides dramatic black dress.... even the cake was decedent - a dark chocolate buttercream with chocolate drizzle design. And the flavor are to drool over: top tier was "Raspberry Duchess" - a white cake with a layer of raspberry preserves, white chocolate mousse; and the bottom tier flavor was "Marquis" - a chocolate cake with a Grand Marnier flavor, one layer of chocolate buttercream one layer of Grand Marnier buttercream, finished in Grand Marnier buttercream. Mmmmm, yum! Photographer: Katheryn Kim Photography | Florist: Stefanie Hofmeister | Baker: La Patisserie Francaise
Their Story: "Brian and I met through a family friend on a blind date in a group. We both invited our children and there were about 6 other people that joined us for dinner at a local pizza spot. I think we only spoke directly to one another one time. Other than that, it was all group conversations. I remember thinking he was handsome and seemed nice, but I couldn’t tell if he had any interested in me. We went on lunch dates and met-up with our kids a few times for dinner. It was 2 months before we even kissed! We decided on an elopement because we have 4 teenagers and weren’t up for getting them all ready for the occasion and trying to accommodate them in any way. I just want it to be intimate between Brian and I so that everything goes as we want and the day to be ours, without teenage drama…. And a great memory to always look back on." Wedding Details: And yes - they will have great memories to look back on. Since it was just the two of them, we customized an elopement package with a few getting ready moment and then caravanned out to the wedding site - a high alpine mountain area with lakes and a waterfall - where we did some photos, met the officiant, exchanged vow, cut the cake and cheered with some bubbly. Seriously ... this is EXACTLY Wendee's favorite hybrid elopement package. Photographer: Katheryn Kim Photography | Florist: Stefanie Hofmeister | Baker: La Patisserie Francaise
Their Story: "We met online two years ago. I contacted Lisa first with a very confident introduction telling her, 'good news, your search is over'. We both agreed on our soon to follow first date that we had a strong connection. We knew we found our "split-apart"! We chose to come back to Estes Park to marry in the area where we got engaged in Nov 2019. We like the idea of our special day being intimate and focused only on each other! We will be having a reception in back home with family & friends in November.” Wedding Details: because 10/10 was a popular date, many of the sites around Estes Park were already booked by the time Sara and Lisa reached out. But, with a little digging, we found a "rogue" scenic area with incredible mountain views that was perfect for them and their two guests, which one of them was their close friend and officiant. Even though it was and elopement, they booked our Intimate Wedding Package in order to have more time with the photographer and also head back to there restaurant for some cheers and cutting of the cake. Sometimes our elopement couples decided to get ready separately and do a first look, other times they decided to get ready together as such did Sara and Lisa. The best part though..... the gorgeous day, gorgeous brides, gorgeous florals, gorgeous people - LOVE EVERYTHING about this elopement! Their Story: "We met when Joel stopped to help me change a tire on my car in the Black Hills of South Dakota. From there we fell in love over our mutual love for nature, travel, books, and simple living. We've spent a lot of time traveling together, sometimes taking spontaneous weekend trips and camping out far from other people. Due to the fact that we grew up in completely different parts of the country and have family from all over we decided to opt for a small, intimate wedding outside with those that are most important to us.” Wedding Details: Having helped them find a ceremony spot through our Ceremony Site Report, Aspin and Joel chose to wed with 18 of their closest family and friends at a scenic park in Grand Lake, Colorado. Their priorities: scenic views that are easy to access for their guests, great photography, pretty flowers, seating, a first look and an intimate overall feeling. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes! (Did you see those flowers!.... LOVE). Photographer: Katheryn Kim Photography | Florist: Stefanie Hofmeister | Baker: La Patisserie Francaise
Their Story: “Peter and I met at our workplace. After I accepted a position in a new department, we kept in touch and started talking more and more, started dating, and 2.5 years later, he proposed. We love Colorado and the stress of a large wedding was taking away from the experience and this important time in our lives.” Wedding Details: Carey and Peter booked one of our Colorado Elopement Packages with 3.5 hours of coverage. Their eight family and friends travel from Iowa to celebrate with them, all staying in a vacation house with view near Estes Park. After their ceremony in Rocky Mountain National Park, they returned to the vacation house where one of our amazing private chefs started serving appetizers and drinks before their dinner. If you are looking to elope, but want your family there with you.... this is the perfect option. Photographer: Katheryn Kim Photography | Florist: Stefanie Hofmeister | Baker: La Patisserie Francaise
Their Story: “Brandon and I visited Colorado on New Year's Eve to do our engagement photoshoot and we fell in love. We knew we wanted to have an intimate destination wedding, and we beat to the tune of our own drum.... so we will be dragging our Southern Alabama/Florida Family and friends to Breckenridge to experience the beautiful mountains and witness our union. We can't wait to say our I do's at the peaks of God's breathtaking mountains.” Wedding Details: Diondra and Brandon started working with us by purchasing the Ceremony Site Report. In discovering their priorities (scenic mountain views) and needs (an accessible site as some of the guests have mobility challenges), we found the perfect venue for them. One of the misconceptions about having an elopement or small wedding in Colorado is that you need to hike to get to ceremony sites. There are TONS of ceremony spots that boast mountain views with little or no walk - even some sites in the BACKCOUNTRY (yes, on mountain passes) are built to be wheelchair accessible. In fact, take time to look through our couple's galleries. Rarely do we do "hiking" weddings.... though, we love adventures are an avid hikers ourselves. So, hike, walk, roll, stroll, skip, jump - however you want to get married, let us know! Photographer: Andrea Flanagan Photography | Florist: Stefanie Hofmeister | Baker: La Patisserie Francaise
Their Story: “Chad and I actually met at a mutual friends wedding out of town. It took us all night to work up the courage to talk to each other. Finally by the end of the night he came up to me and asked if he could get a drink out of the ice chest I was sitting on and we’ve been together ever since! We decided on a small wedding so we could be surrounded by the people we love and not have the stress of the traditional large wedding. Our town was destroyed by hurricane Laura last year so many venues are booked for the next year and wanted to make it as special and sincere!” Wedding Details: 25 of Danielle and Chad's family and friends travel to Colorado from Louisiana where they caravanned from Breckenridge out to a scenic "rogue" spot - though, *NO* hike required. After the ceremony, they celebrated at a local family-friendly restaurant where kids of all ages can relax, enjoy and taste the cake! Their Story: We live in the Atlanta area, but grew up in different states. I grew up in Mississippi and Tharkun grew up in Washington. We wanted a small destination wedding in Colorado for a several reasons. We are low key, simple people. We didn't want to plan a big expensive wedding because it doesn’t reflect our values or how we like to spend our money and time. We both love the outdoors and the mountains and really love Colorado. We’ve visited over the years and think it’s a special place. We are active, busy people and value our time, energy and resources which is why a big wedding just isn’t appealing to us.” Wedding Details: being a fall wedding, the couple chose deep jewel toned colors which looked amazing against yellow aspens and clear mountain skies. Their ceremony site was at a secret park in Summit County, not well known or on any GPS, so though "rogue", it felt like their own mountain backyard. After the group photos, they celebrated in a private room at a restaurant located in Frisco, Colorado. Their Story: "Marco and I both work and live on an exotic ranch in Texas. We’ve been together for 4 years now I met him in my freshman semester of college through mutual friends! I’ve never seen myself having a big traditional wedding! I want my wedding day to be about us, which is almost impossible with a big wedding. I don’t need nor want a big fancy wedding! I love the simple life!” Wedding Details: J+M incorporated many unique elements into their small elopement ceremony with eight guests. To honor their ranch + hunting lifestyle, the couple performed a branding ceremony on a small axis deer hide from one of their first dates together (her first deer). After the cermeony and since most restaurants don't allow dancing, we hung-out at the ceremony site, played some tunes, danced a little, and cheered to their new life together. When they arrived at the restaurant to cut the cake, to the groom's surprise, we customized the cake flavor: banana nut cream with cream cheese icing! {Update: congratulations on the new little addition to your family 💝} Photographer: Katheryn Kim Photography | Florist: Stefanie Hofmeister | Baker: La Patisserie Francaise
Their Story: "He is originally from Latvia and some of his family actually still lives there. We met online and are going on year number 3 together. We are animal lovers (2 dogs, 2 cats) and nature lovers. We chose a destination wedding for the intimacy, pictures, views and simplicity to ease the stress of planning a massive wedding. We will have a party/reception a month after we return that is more casual and hope to share all our pictures then!” Wedding Details: Since we were still maneuvering around COVID protocols when L+S booked our micro-wedding package, they opted on a site that has an expansive lawn with views of the Ten Mile Mountain Range in the backdrop. For her bouquet, Leigha wanted warm hues for her florals, asymmetrical, with rich golden accents, reds and fall foliage. I think we nailed it (it's one of Wendee's favorites)! Yes, our micro packages include planning, photographer + images, florals, cake, officiant and onsite coordination. Their Story: “We met in college through mutual friends. We both liked each other for months before we actually expressed anything. I made the first move and we have been together ever since. We chose a small mountain wedding, because we both have an intense love for the outdoors and those closest to us.” Wedding Details: Even though Gabe and Colin live in Colorado, they still decided to so a small elopement-styled destination wedding package with with #22 of their closest friends. Gabe's brother, being close friends with the groom, decided to prank him for the first look. Oh..... that just set off an afternoon of great memories with friends! They traveled to a lakeshore in Summit County to exchange vows and then celebrated in a private room at a restaurant in Breckenridge. Their Story: "Brice & I have known of each other for 20+ years, graduated from the same high school and took extremely different life paths, coming together unexpectedly in 2019. We are outdoorsy people completely in love with each other and the idea of a scenic, intimate wedding. We are excited to celebrate our wedding with close friends and family in beautiful Colorado!” Wedding Details: After Becca and Brice did our Ceremony Site Report services, they settled on unique, location in the backcountry (easily accessible) that is secluded by an evergreen tree-lined ADA path. After their ceremony with 26 guests, they returned to a vacation house in Vail where a private chef was awaiting their arrival. Instead of doing our usually 2-tiered cake, we ordered a couple of cheesecakes for their sweet taste of marriage life!
